Feedback from the cheap seats!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_video src=”https:\/\/youtu.be\/81vspoLEnK4″ _builder_version=”4.7.4″ _module_preset=”default” width=”100%”][\/et_pb_video][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.7.4″ _module_preset=”default” text_line_height=”1.3em” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″]<\/p>\n I used to hold keynotes on stage and only see people looking at me critically, with frowns on their faces. Even if I didn’t realise it consciously, I took all the feedback very personally and felt hurt.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Then I participated in a dare-to-lead training developed by Brene Brown and learned something which was very important for female leaders standing in the arena every day:<\/p>\n <\/span>\ud83d\udc49 There is a difference between feedback from people who have been there before and feedback from people in the “cheap seats”.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n Quote from Theodore Roosevelt:<\/em><\/p>\n “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.”<\/span><\/p>\nImportant feedback for female leaders and for everyone out there in the arena?<\/span><\/h2>\n
